Boozhoo! My name is Samuel Charal, and my role with ABSS is the Aboriginal Recruitment/Liaison Officer. I am non- status Nêhiyaw and Metis from Manitoba (Treaty 1 Territory), as well as Saint- Benoit- Labre, and Greek (Φλώρινα, Greece). I was born and raised in Toronto until I moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario for school. Through the Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism program at Lakehead University, I began working with at- risk and neurologically at- risk youth in various youth intervention and wilderness therapy programs across Canada until I returned to southern Ontario. I am grateful and excited to work with ABSS as we continue helping those in our communities to help further their journeys through post- secondary education.
