Emerging Priorities

Named Research Chair

Research chair positions are used to attract and retain world-class researchers who reinforce academic research and training excellence in Canadian postsecondary institutions. Supporting a Research Chair in the Faculty of Social Sciences will directly support the faculty’s access to excellence, innovation, and research. Proceeds of the endowment will support salary, benefits and an appropriate measure of scholar and research support.

Applied Disability Studies Program

In light of recent world events, enhancing Brock’s Applied Disability Studies Program is more important than ever. This program trains our students to apply real-world knowledge to contribute to the betterment of the lives of people in our community and beyond with a focus on persons with disabilities and underserved populations.

Mental Health Program

The demand for wellness and mental health supports has increased significantly at Brock and other post-secondary institutions across the globe as a result of COVID-19. Supporting the emerging needs of student mental health can increase the active engagement of students, reduce the stigma of accessing mental health assistance and increase training for practitioners.
